Dr Maddocks is a Reader in Health Services Research at King’s College London and specialist physiotherapist in palliative care. His PhD examined the role of exercise in cancer cachexia and he has since held UK National Institute of Health Research post-doctoral, clinical trials and career development fellowships. His research spans rehabilitation, palliative care and respiratory medicine. He has led studies on age-related syndromes including frailty and sarcopenia, functional decline, symptom management particularly breathlessness, and exercise and novel rehabilitation interventions.
